Education & Mentorships
Kind Words
“My film mentorship experience with Monique was absolutely incredible. From our initial meeting in Santa Barbara for a casual chat and snack, to practicing techniques on the beach, every moment was filled with learning and inspiration. Monique’s depth of knowledge in wedding photography is vast, yet she has a unique gift for making complex concepts easily understandable -- especially film.
Throughout our session, Monique was not just supportive, but deeply engaged in my learning journey. She consistently checked in to ensure I grasped everything, shared invaluable insights during our shoot, and ignited my creativity with new ideas. Her warmth and kindness made the entire experience enjoyable and easeful. She is a wonderful educator.
Monique is undeniably a standout in the wedding photography industry. Her talent shines through in every aspect of her mentorships. I genuinely admire Monique and am endlessly thankful for her unrivaled support. Thank you, Monique, for being such an exceptional mentor and an all-around wonderful person!”

“I recently had the absolute joy and privilege of having a mentorship session with Monique, and I cannot recommend her highly enough. Monique is not only a masterful photographer with a stunning portfolio but also is an exceptional mentor who truly invests and cares in the growth and development of her mentees. Monique, is a well of knowledge and is an open book when it comes to sharing her insights in the wedding photography industry.
Monique demonstrated an unparalleled expertise in various photography topics such as film, editing, pricing, workflow, social media, and networking strategies to name a few. Her ability to break down complex concepts into digestible, actionable steps was incredibly valuable, especially for someone like myself entering the world of film. Monique created an environment where I felt comfortable asking her any question and inspired new ideas that I could then apply to my own business.
One particular aspect that stood out to me was that she went the extra mile to ensure to answer each and every one of my multiple questions thoroughly and welcomed any follow up questions I may have in the future. This not only showcased Monique’s expertise but also her dedication to ensuring that I walked away from the session with tangible skills and insights.
If you're a photographer looking to elevate your craft and expand your artistic horizons, I wholeheartedly recommend Monique’s mentorship sessions. The experience was invaluable, and I am grateful for the opportunity to learn from such a talented and supportive mentor. I cannot thank Monique enough for all the tools she offered me to further grow my business! 100 out of 10 recommend!“

"Monique was one of the first photographers early in my career who invited me into the wedding industry with open arms. I was timid, I was nervous, and I had no clue what I was doing. She trusted me and hired me as a second, taught me how to navigate a wedding day, was kind and patient, and became my friend in an industry that felt lonely. She helped shape me into the photographer I am today, and for that I will always be grateful. Years into my career, I watched her excel and in such a graceful way. It's beyond special watching a mentor and friend soar in this industry.
Then she started shooting on film, and was succeeding with it too, and I immediately was intrigued. Naturally, I knew I could reach out to her about it and ask questions. She's very approachable, a natural teacher, and is so easy to talk to. Again, she opened her arms up to me and made film photography a million times less scary than it seemed. I booked a mentor session with her that changed my business forever. We spent the first hour going over my questions and her knowledge regarding the camera she recommended to me, as well as film in general. The second hour was spent photographing an engaged couple -- so I could learn to use the camera properly. Although the film was finicky and the camera I purchased didn't end up being great, she was patient and kind and understanding. And through that experience, the fear of film diminished and I learned so much that I now use film photography as a staple in my business.
I could not recommend Monique enough. She's an incredibly talented and knowledgeable wedding photographer but also a very kind and sweet person. I am so grateful that I met her when I did and that I reached out to her early on in my career, but also particularly two years ago when she taught me film photography."
